The Stadium in Fengate, Peterborough, less than a mile from the city centre, became a Greyhound racing venue in October, 1930. The Perkins family became involved in the ownership and development in 1945, when it was bought by Reg Perkins (father of the present owners, Rex and David), and George Ellingworth. At that time, the hare was pulled round the track by two strong men turning the pedals of an upturned bike. Reg Perkins took complete control when George Ellingworth died. Reg retired in 1977. In 1982, the development programme was started with the installation of an electric Microtote. The building of the Raceview Grandstand was then planned and the stadium entered the 1990s. A night of racing offers something to suit all tastes and budgets and a warm welcome awaits you at Peterborough Greyhound Stadium. MAJOR OPEN EVENTS:- Wafcol Puppy Derby
