Catterick offers a good mixture of flat and national hunt racing and is one of the few courses holding a meeting each month of the year. While the course has country appeal and character, it has also undergone a major improvement scheme which has transformed the facilities. Catterick now boasts some of the most comfortable bars and boxes available in Yorkshire racing. Traditionally, Catterick sees out the Old Year (New Year's Eve) and stages Yorkshire's first meeting of the New Year. The National Hunt is left-handed, sharp and undulating with a 1m 3f circuit. The flat is left-handed oval, undulating and very sharp with a 1m 1f round. How to get to CatterickBy Car: Follow the A1 and exit at Scotch Corner on the east side of the Great North Road. The racecourse is situated just off the A1 approximately five miles south of Scotch Corner. The exit at Catterick Village is the most suitable point to leave the A1 - the course is just on the outskirts of the village. By Train: Darlington station is on the line from London Kings Cross.
