Horse Racing Chepstow Betting

Chepstow Racecourse, the Capital Racecourse of Wales, is positioned within the grounds of historic Piercefield Park amidst 400 acres of picturesque parkland and stages racing all year round on the flat and over jumps. The venue is easily accessible from many parts of the UK with excellent rail and road links, easily reached from the M4 and M5, close to Bristol and Cardiff airports and less than 2 hours from London.

Chepstow Racecourse has been the scene of so many exciting and famous events:
  • In 1933, Sir Gordon Richards set a world record at the course when he rode eleven consecutive winners at a two-day meeting
  • In 1990 Frankie Dettori became the first teenager since Lester Piggott 35 years earlier to achieve 100 winners in a season
  • The great Piggott himself rode his comeback winner at Chepstow at the age of 54 after five years in retirement
  • On Chepstow turf, Pat Eddery became the first jockey for 38 years to ride 200 winners in a season
  • In 1992, Richard Dunwoody rode five winners out of six races at one meeting
Chepstow racecourse hosts: The Coral Eurobet Welsh National, The Tote Silver Trophy, The Rising Stars Novices' Chase, The Tote John Hughes Rehearsal Chase, The Finale Juvenile Hurdle, The Welsh Champion Hurdle (National Hunt) and The Golden Daffodil Stakes (Flat). The National Hunt is left-handed and undulating, going can be very testing and the circuit is 1m 7f. The Flat is left-handed oval, undulating 1m 7f round with 41/2 run-in. Races up to 1m on straight course. Tends to extremes of going.
