Salisbury Racecourse is one of England's oldest racecourses with racing taking place on the picturesque downland since the sixteenth century. Salisbury stages a number of meetings during the summer months when it successfully combines high quality racing with a friendly and enjoyable day out. Highlights of the racing season include the Bibury Meeting in late June featuring the Bibury Cup and Champagne Stakes, the two evening meetings in July, the EBF Upavon Fillies Stakes and Sovereign Stakes in August and the Dick Poole Stakes and EBF Lochsong Fillies Handicap at the September meeting. By Car: The racecourse is three and a half miles south west of Salisbury on the A3094 and is signposted. From the north, take the A360. By Train: Salisbury station links with buses direct to the course. Children's Facilities At the two Sunday meetings and throughout July and August, a children's creche and other entertainment is provided.
