Sandown Park stages racing all year round with top class National Hunt racing. The season culminates in the biggest raceday of the year, the attheraces Gold Cup Celebration Meeting held in April, unique in that it stages both jump and flat racing on the same day. Flat racing is fun as well with the highlight being the Coral Eurobet Eclipse Day, in July. The race course is set in an amphitheatre and the grandstand is perfectly positioned to give a superb view of the action. Highlights of the racing calendar include the William Hill Tingle Creek Meeting in December. The best 2 mile chasers from Great Britain and Ireland will come head to head in the Tingle Creek itself, the William Hill Hurdle and the new williamhill.co.uk Marathon Chase. In 2004 events include the Coral Eclipse Day on July 3, Evening racing on Wednesday July 21 includes a Casino Night plus ladies go free, Evening racing on Wednesday August 11 and the Variety Club Day on Saturday August 21. By Car: The best route from London is to take the A3. Alternatively from the M25 turn off at Junction 10 and follow the A3 back towards London for 2 miles until the junction with the A307, where the course is well sign-posted. By Train: Race goers can take a train to Esher station which is a 10 min walk to the racecourse. It takes approximately 25 minutes to get to Esher from London Waterloo and trains leave in the afternoon approximately every 30 minutes. There are trains approximately every 15 minutes when going to an evening meeting. Disabled Facilities Good facilities at Sandown Park including toilets, viewing platforms, reserved parking and access ramps to all areas. Children's FacilitiesThere is a family picnic area in the Park Enclosure and a large playground. A creche for the Under 5's is also available.
